Baby Giraffe
The giraffe (Giraffa) is a genus of African even-toed ungulate mammals, the tallest living terrestrial animals and the largest ruminants. The giraffe's chief distinguishing characteristics are its extremely long neck and legs, its horn-like ossicones, and its distinctive coat patterns.A typical gestation period for giraffes can last up to 15 months.Female giraffes give birth standing up. Their young endure falling more than 1.5 metres to the ground at birth. These infants can stand within half an hour of being born.
This young giraffe still has its umbilical cord attached.
